    Well spotted Berj,

I think, as you state, the writer inadvertently confused the game in Euro 88 with the 0-0 draw that took place two years later.

Thanks for bringing this mistake to our attention.

    Best wishes,

    World Soccer

    Dear Gavin Hamilton,

I enjoy your magazine very much, viewing it as the most intelligent and well written football magazine or newspaper available.

I was disappointed, therefore, to read in ‘The Great Teams: Holland 1988’ section that my beloved Oranje were held 0-0 by England at Euro 88. This, of course was the result in the dreadful (for Holland) 1990 World Cup campaign. At euro 88 Marco Van Basten scored a hat-trick against England in a 3-1 win, which propelled him to the golden boot and Holland to the championship.

After the near miss of last year’s final, let’s hope Oranje can repeat the 88 success next year in Poland/Ukraine. well, I hope so anyway.

    Best wishes,

    Berj Tekerian
