A nice piece Sub mate. My take on Michael Owen is slightly more of a cautious one. For sure he has been in fine goalscoring for Keegan's men of late but with his history of injuries, Owen being reinvented could so easily back-fire with yet another injury setback. Owen was a fantastic player at Anfield, however i firmly believed Robbie Fowler was much the more naturally gifted of the two. He then tore a hamstring and was rushed back to action too quickly, since then he has lost that extra yard of acceleration. He still retains his excellent movement off the ball and possesses that "fox in the box" attribute, but he is not, and never will be the player he once was, saying that every player loses something throughout their careers. Has much as Owen has started to net on a regular basis, it also coincides with Newcastle's overall improved gameplay in recent weeks. Michael Owen will always score goals when fit but injuries have ultimately stalled his career progression and never has looked the same after he when he was hastefully brought back into action earlier than he should at Anfield, in which he broke down on his return. Excellent player but could have been much better had it not been for his misfortune.

michael owen is certainly on form at the moment but every time i see him run at pace i expect him to pull up with a hamstring injury.i quizzed his motivation at newcastle but with keegan in charge he seems to have a hunger again and is leading from the front.i expect him to score at west ham tomorrow but on the other hand he could go off after 10 minutes with an injury?

I dont agree with the article I'm afraid.
Its my opinion that Owen's career has stagnated badly and that he should never have moved to Newcastle. If he does get back to his goal scoring ways you can be assured that he wont stay at NUFC very long.
I cant see how 5 goals in 5 games prompts an article on his re-invention.

Have to agree with MBH...Owen is someone who needs feeding and the service at Newcastle has never been anything to bring out his best. It still isn't. Also agree he should never have gone...it was obvious he didn't want to go there and only did so because the money was high and Liverpool showed no interest.
