Now the result is known, the answer remains uncertain still in my opinion. For sure, Ronaldo now owns a Champions League winners medal, and many will say rightly that results are the main thing, however Ronaldo failed to impress yet again on the big stage. Many claimed Ronaldo never performed on the big stage, and only for his goal, i feel he still as yet to perform on the big stage. Ok, he scored with what was a poorly marked free header, won one or two more aeriel duels and went on several unchallenged attacking forays, but ultimately he missed again from the spot and sat sulkingly on his backside for most of the late Moscow evening in a Manchester United side that was second best once Lampard equalised. Rooney was equally as poor with his temperamant and bad attitude once again on show for all to see and Tevez was lucky to stay on the field after so many poor stud showing challenges and flailling arms towards his opponents.
Most shockingly but not as unpredictable however was that itv's commentary was biased towards one team, strangely enough a team based in the same city where itv are located in, that being Manchester, and the commentator Clive Tyldesley only happens to be a United fan. David Pleat was no better but bless him, he mistook Ryan Giggs for Redknapp. Knowing him, he probably had Harry in his mind in place of his son Jamie despite the latter being in a similar age bracket as the Welshman. All told, every cloud as a silver lining as Everton recieve a further £1 million for Rooney winning the Champions League and United's success really gets up kopites noses. United are now just two Champions League wins away and one League title away from equalling Liverpool's record which sounds good overall to me although at the end of the evening, the better team lost "Once Again".
