Fiorentina: A new dawn.
      #11870 - 01/06/2008 19:54

Well, as a life long Fiorentina supporter I am proud to say that we are finally getting closer to reaching our full potential. The recent signings of Felipe Melo, Stevan Jovetic and Alberto Gilardino has boosted the team's confidence. I am praying that we do achieve our goals for next season and we make the second round of the Champions League and qualify for the tournament again in 2009.

Forza Viola!!!

Non Mollare Mai!!

A warm welcome to the forum Bernardinho. Congratulations on your Fiorentina side making it into European competitions once more after an excellent season. As an Everton fan, i enjoyed the friendliness of your supporters during their visit on Merseyside. We where completely outplayed in your backyard and equally outplayed your lads at Goodison, trouble is the English sides by and large tend to be hopeless in penalty shootouts ence my team being dumped out of the Uefa Cup. Good luck to your lads in 2008-09.

Thank you very much indeed for such a warm welcome. I have always believed that Everton were the hardest working team in English Football and have been for the last 5 years. Hopefully your lads can honour my team with their presence in Europe again. I think that the Everton and Fiorentina fans share the same enthusiasm and passion for the game and that is what makes our two teams so unique.

Thank you also for your kind words. What struck me when Fiorentina played at Goodison was the sheer volume of supporters that could be seen in the city centre. Everton have amongst the best travelling contingent in this country and i can only imagine that Fiorentina are equally as good on their travels.

There isn't much difference between our two teams, they have been regarded by the others as a mid sized club with nothing special about them. But its the passion of the fans that make the club special. By the way I happened to catch your comments in the recent issue of World Soccer and you are 100% correct with the clueless officials, ex players would be the best option.

I think Frey and Mutu are exactly where they want to be. Under the guidance of Prandelli, they have always performed amazingly as has Gilardino. We are very close to signing Vargas, however Real Madrid have shown interest in the Peruvian wizard.
