Hi. It's somewhat crazy introducing myself after being an active member of this forum for well over 6 or 7 months but nevertheless,as Sam has invited us all to introduce ourselves,so will I comply.

I'm Subhankar Mondal. I turned 20 just over a month ago and I am currently in Bangalore,India in my second year at college. I am originally from West Bengal and owe much of my footballing fanaticism to the culture and environment in which I was conceived,born and bred. I know all too well that several of the people who boast of a footballing national culture(Europeans and Latin Americans) would refute my claims to be as mad and passionate about football as they are but I can guarantee them that I am just like them in terms of loving and absorbing this game as my own. Football might be a pariah sport here in India with few people filterng through the Manchester Uniteds,the Arsenals or the Real Madrids,but in my West Bengal,which is appreciated as the hub of football in my country,football is really,really significant,almost like a religion if you would have it so.

I come from a family where football was seen as the Number 1 sport. My father and all my cousins are absolutely love this game and now that I am in this World Soccer forum,which is arguably the most widely recognised football magazine,I feel so good.

I support Real Madrid and have been supporting the club since I was 12 or 13 years of age. The club has remained one the key elements to live at all as it often,for me,becomes the sole reason to pick up quarrels with people(even my best friends at my hometown have not been spared of this wrath).

Besides watching football,which I do(or would prefer to do since I live at our college hostel where most of the guys have rarely watched a full game of football all their lives and dismiss football as a game for kids without realising either the science or the art of it,and so I can't get to watch as many games as I would like)for most of the time,I am deep into Literature. I am also keen on pop music,mainly on ballads and classic love songs by Westlife,Boyzone,Bryan McFadden et al and also enjoy Eminem. I did compose some book and music reviews on Amazon.com.
