Held to Ransom

Way back in Arpil 2007 I applied for a follow my team Czech Republic euro 2008 ticket. I didn't get them, and with the tournament drawing closer I have began to look on ebay and have been not surprised but simply annoyed about how many tickets there are on there and most of all how much they cost. The reason I don't have a ticket is because alot of people simply paply for tickets just to sell them on. What can be done to stop this?
I am gong to end up paying more for a single match ticket than it would for me to go to every Czech Republic match in the group stage and i'll be in the nervous position of will I won't I get the tickets on time and ge tin to the stadium. Is anyone else having this problem an ddoes anyone have nay ideas what UEFA could do to help stop this ridiculus occurance.

This sort of thing applies to most ticketed events these days...supposedly only the original purchaser of the ticket should be able to get in as they're linked to the ticket itself. In practice of course, this doesn't happen and pretty much anyone can walk through the turnstiles. And by this point, Uefa / Fifa / whoever already has their money so they don't care. Hope you manage to get to see the matches and it doesn't cost you too much. As an englander, it's going to be very cheap to follow our progress at Euro 2008
