Ronaldo was brilliant in that game. But you could say Giggs was the best player for having 4 assists or Carrick because he got 2 goals as well.Tell me a big team in the ucl he took apart on his own.

So really he should play for a worse team than Manchester United. Milan maybe?

That way he would have much more chance of standing out from the rest of the team - as they would play rubbish regularly - & rely on his brilliance to win games single-handed.

For me:

1. Greatest Goals:
- Zlatan Ibrahimovic vs NAC Breda
- Maradona vs England
- Bergkamp vs Argentina
- great free kick of Roberto Carlos against France

2. Greates Matches:
- Czech Republic vs Holland (it was 3-2 for Czechs, I don't remember exactly, but I think it was on Euro Championship)
- Man Utd against Bayern Munchen (Champions League final)
- Poland vs Portugal (2-0, last Euro Qualifies)

3. The greatest teams:
- Ajax Amsterdam in 1995
- Poland in 1974

Ok, I am biassed, but the greatest goal for me is Matthew Le Tissier against Newcastle in 1994.

Goals are often judged by occasion, and rightly so, as big goals in the big games will be more memorable, usually require more skill, and be more important.

However, when you are the sole gifted player in a team relying on you to beat relegation, there is huge pressure. Any player can see a powerful shot fly in from distance on their day, but there are some goals when you just know very few, if any other player could do it.

This summed up everything about Le Tissier because he made something no-one else has done look very, very easy. A headed pass behind him was flicked over his own head with his heal, run on to, flicked over the oncoming defender, round him, flicked over the last defender, and then, reflecting everything about him, sidefooted into the goal like a regular training ground finish when most people would have gone for power. Easily the slowest player to regularly beat several defenders, and that takes a lot of skill.

Santana's goal against Cagliari this year was amazing, went around 3 players and slotted it in with finesse, the same could be said for Vucinic against Catania in the final round of the Serie A this year, went around four players took on the keeper and finished superbly.

Coming soon! The All-Time World Cup at Play4ATeam.com
-The site developed for players BY players!

The failure of all four home nations to qualify for Euro 2008 has led to nostalgic conversations in pubs up and down the land, pining for the days of old when there were players who did the shirt proud.

Surely England would be unstoppable if they still had Lineker up front and Moore at the back? Wouldn’t Scotland have gotten through the qualifiers with Law and Dalglish up front?

But just who would be selected for an England all-time team? Just as importantly, how would they fare against the all-time teams from the rest of the world?

Which is the greatest footballing nation on Earth? Which country has produced the finest talents? Could Baresi and Maldini snuff out Pele and Romario? Who would come out on top between Beckenbauer and Matthaus’ German machine and a Dutch Cruyff-Van Basten dream team?

Well, the time has come to find out once and for all, at the ALL-TIME WORLD CUP!

Don't get me wrong maradona's goal is a worthy winner(especially because it was against england) but if that goal is the best why isn't messi's up there too? In the weeks after he scored it they were being run side by side and were almost identical. Granted maradona's was in the World Cup but, if i remember right , Barca needed to score four or five to make it to the Spanish Cup final. I'm not saying the Spanish Cup and the World Cup are on a parr but it must count for something. As for Pele's goal good but the defending was a joke, i know he lifts it over yr'mans head but i think it's a case of "it wouldn't be a top ten without Pele"

Personally, just for atmosphere, Shearer's winning goal against Germany at Euro 2000 in Charleroi was the greatest

The best game I ever saw was the WC 1986 semi between France and W Germany in Guadalajara
