We all want Theo Walcott to do well as we want to see young English players playing at the top. However, Theo Walcott has not shown enough to be considered anymore than an impact player this season for Arsenal and you can count on one hand the amount of good games he has had for Arsenal when he has started. I can only think of two this season, at home to Slavia Prague and Saturday's win over Reading and to be honest, both sides were extremely poor. That said, Theo knows he must now start producing and I would expect him to make this step next season, pushing himself ahead of Eboue.

Walcott is a relative novice in the top flight. Currently, he appears to be more use when coming off the substitutes bench than when he gets a rare start. He certainly is one for the future but until he actually achieves status other than an 80 yard run at Anfield, he is will still remain a raw talent famed as an impact substitute and an inexperienced future superstar.

Walcott won't improve much without starts. He's old enough to be getting regular starts, and although a bit inconsistent, he's done enough to warrant a place. If not, then certainly longer substitute appearances. He's improved a great deal since he was at Southampton, where he tended to end up on the ground every few minutes.
