I admire your confidence but it seems to be discounting the fact that AZ seem to be a pale shadow of last year's team.
Last season they lost four games all season in the league and reached the Dutch Cup Final.
This year they have already lost three games in the league -OK one was to Ajax but one was to Heracles - yes that's the team that shipped nine against Heerenveen. And they lost to a second level team in the Cup...
Of course this could be a temporary blip. And Everton possibly have the worst deal based on the fact that they play AZ last & hence AZ have the longest time to get their act together before they play them...
I'm not sure why the wheels should've fallen off quite so quickly although I guess the departures of Arveladze & Koevermans can't have helped.

Everton did not no how Matalist Kharkiv were like until they played them but Everton won, and there is no difference with AZ Alkmaar. you don't no who will win until the final whistle.

If we don't know what tams are like from whom we are playing, then surely the management team are not doign there work?
I didn't know Metalist, but when we got paired with them, i sure well looked to find out and expect the management team of my club to do the same and even more.

Tim Cahill may return for the high noon showdown tomorrow against Everton's main rival. On a sad note, Liverpool's biggest rivals are know 35 miles down the M62 and play at a ground called Old Trafford. Winning this game knowadays means far more to the toffees than it does the pool, that cannot be argued. The reason being Liverpool go into each derby "Merseyside derby that is" not "THE Local Derby" as many newspapers and Radio City link to Man Utd/Liverpool meetings, feeling they only have to turn up to win.
This is a game for the likes of Lee Carsley, Tony Hibbert and Alan Stubbs, two are which are local lads and one being a midfield "dogs of war character" who kept Steven Gerrard quiet when he scored the winner in a 1-0 victory at a few years back at Goodison. Whatever the outcome, the game is not expected to be pretty and form will go straight out of the window. As in every season, i always feel we will lose at home and draw at Anfield, this season is no different although superstition plays a big part in derby games with me and my predictions. Liverpool are playing the better football but have faced no real testers away from home so far but Everton have played long ball football at times and have not yet impressed on home soil. This in mind, i feel Liverpool will sneak a dull and scrappy game 2-1 that a draw would have merited the overall play. I however am a superstitious type and hope i am entirely incorrect, but i see in my crystal ball that Stevie G will earn a dodgey penalty or free-kick that will profit the reds. We shall see but i cant wait until the end of the game, i hate derbies.
