The Liverpool Echo Arena - No Traffic conjestion all of a sudden
So the Liverpool Echo Arena is now up and running. For those unaware of the geographical location, this arena was the plot where Everton's new stadium could have been built situated at Kings Dock. This arena is owned by Liverpool City Council and holds 10,600 spectators. Looking at the structure itself, it would have taken up similar acres to build a football stadium. At the time when Everton proposed this move, one of Liverpool City Councils many excuses to block any move was that the surrounding roads could not cope with additional traffic in the area. Still, they went on to build this arena which will be used mainly for concerts. The City Council have become so transparent in this whole affair but those who wish to move to Kirkby are blinded from the truth. The one thing i should say is that when Everton move out of the city boundaries, Everton will still play in the city, Everton Tigers that is. A basketball team that will use this arena as their home venue.
Keep Everton in our city.

Apart from anything else, we couldn't afford the Kings Dock Stephen.
Anyway, looking ahead, and in particular at the rumours that the Americans are struggling to raise the finances for a new stadium for Liverpool, talk of a shared ground rears its not-so-ugly head again.
There was a time when it was unthinkable, but looking at the present situation it makes more and more sense. The council would back it as it would get them out of a hole created by Everton's move to Kirkby and it makes economic sense to both clubs.
As an Everton fan fearful of the consequences of leaving the city, it is an option I'd support.

Fernandez set for return
Manuel Fernandez is poised to return to Everton on loan until the end of the season. The Portugese midfielder spent a successful loan period at Goodison before deciding on a permanent move to Valencia. His time in Spain as not worked out well and Moyes appears to have got his man to bolster the squad following Steven Pienaar's departure to the African Cup of Nations tournament. Should Fernandez pass his medical, he should sign on Thursday.

Ramon Wilson was one of the most cultured full-backs ever to play on Merseyside. Born near Mansfield, he joined Huddersfield Town from local amateur circles in 1951. He stayed at Leeds Road for 13 years before signing for Everton in July 1964. A tough tackler with superb tactical knowledge, he was widely regarded as the finest full-back in European football when he won a World Cup winners’ medal with England in 1966. His career in the top flight ended in July 1968 when a knee injury sustained in training required surgrey. He fought back, but although the finesse which had been the hallmark of his play was still evident, he had lost some of his old speed and confidence and he was given a free transfer. The experience of 18 years in the game, and 63 England appearances, made him an attractive proposition for several clubs. He joined Oldham Athletic in 1969 before moving to Bradford City as player-coach. After retirement from the game, wilson built up a suucessful business as an undertaker in huddersfield which he retired from in 1997.

In short, i am not thrilled at the thought of moving out of the city boundaries which would leave Liverpool a one club city, exactly what the city council wants. Keep Everton in our city.

Glad to hear it ! Great minds think alike. I don't see why the club would even entertain the idea let alone seriously consider it to the extent they publically state that a Plan B is not needed.
The politics of this move would make a decent article in a certain magazine.
