Quote:

I believe you may have forgotten the vital two points I obtained by correctly predicting the score at Goodison. So my points should be an unspectacular 7 - still better than 5 though....

Quote:

Edit: I would say you've just forgotten (or abolished?) correct score points entirely - as you haven't given yourself any either. But then I think righteous1 has either 9 pts (no correct score points) or 13 (points for Derby-Portsmouth & A. Villa-Liverpool).

You have to expect some early teething problems and lets be fair, i have been in the middle of working out the total's whilst still in work, thankfully, you have volunteered to be our score checker . Cheers for that lad.

Oh and, "cough, cough", with the bonus correct score points, your score increased, an invalid statistic really as mine did too, but i invented the scoring system i cant get right yet. I just want to get home from work tomorrow, clear my head with a few cans of lager and get my sums right, after this total as been added, i should be then topping the leaderboard myself . .

Well the maths is much better this time!

However, until I get bored with the idea I've decided to also keep my own "alternative league table"

2 points for correct prediction + 1 point for correct score.

Current standings:

righteous1 20
steve31 19
rotku 18
stephen woodside 18
badgerboy 14
RichieC 12
subhankar mondal 10
g woodside 5

I'm still working on a system that puts me top

Stephen

I had forgotten that earlier you wrote this:

Quote:

Just one final note. If for some reason or another, anyone of us can not make predictions at a weekend or midweek, your previous weeks predictions would just follow on in identical sequence so at least we would gain the opportunity to gain the odd point or three or just fluke a massive points total.

- which you've now contradicted...

The original rule was ludicrous by the way. Just checked & tonight Richie C would have joint top-scored with 8 & Sub scored 6.

I have not really contradicted myself, i just had a long think about it. It is simply unfair that anyone who enters predictions each week should be beaten by those who rarely enter scores. Unless notification is given, stating "can you follow my scores on from the previous week" then that will be acceptable.

Also badgerboy, why you have to look for holes and to keep an alternative scoring system to the original one is beyond me, it is complicated enough without having others further confusing the situation.

If you want to invent a new scoring system, why dont you start a new competition in the Spanish, French or any other league?

These are the Original Standings that will remain!!!
