Other key players: Tugay (CM), Khizanishvili (CB), Roberts (FW).
A steady season for Blackburn - who just missed out on European football for next season.
Blackburn's star men in attack were definitely David Bentley (another ex-Arsenal man finally fulfilling his promise elsewhere) & Roque Santa Cruz - probably one of the best "imports" last summer. Moten Gamst Pedersen has also been performing consistently well for the club for some seasons.
Defensively they seem to lack a recognised right back (Emerton is more of a midfielder & Ooijer a centre back). Like a number of other clubs (Everton, Villa, Tottenham) their next step is challenging for a Champions League spot but that looks like it's going to be pretty difficult.
For the future:
No names leap out at me at the moment. 4th & 5th year professionals (players aged 20 & 21) sitting in the reserves & showing little immediate sign of moving up into the first team seem pretty common at Blackburn. And the players being loaned out were mostly to League Two clubs so I wouldn't bet on them staying.
Aaron Doran - an Irish forward - is the top scorer for the U18s while I know Gavin Gunning (another of the few 17yo's to play for the reserve side) played for the Republic in the recent U17 European Championships.
