If you're not watching the opening of the MLS, then you are missing some amazing football especially from the "expansion" Seattle Sounders FC. You may know Freddy Ljungberg is now a Sounder, but our other Fredy (with one 'D') is a young Colombian: Fredy Montero. He's hit three goals in the opening two matches: the one against New York was Goal of the Week; his goal against Salt Lake is a runaway leader for Goal of the Week this week. He's a young star on the rise as is his teammate from Cuba - Osvaldo Alonso. Alonso is a Makalele-type midfielder, totally fearless, who is running amok against opponents. I know it's hard for you on that side of the pond to put much into the MLS, especially with Becks bad-mouthing it...although he has no credibility in the States. But Google Sounders FC or go onto YouTube and look for Montero and I think you'll be casting a more curious eye towards MLS.
