Lionel Messi became the joint highest goalscorer in the history of Spanish football on Wednesday when he scored a stunning solo effort in Barcelona's Spanish Cup draw with Real Sociedad
Messi went into the semi-final second leg just one goal behind Telmo Zarra, who scored an impressive 335 goals in all competitions during his 15-year career with Athletic Bilbao.
Messi’s record equalling goal was no ordinary effort either. The Argentinian received the ball on the halfway line and advanced on the Sociedad goal, before evading a clutch of defenders and unleashing a snap shot that goalkeeper Zubikarai could only help into the net.
At times he really does make it seem all too easy.
