After 10-0 defeat, manager stays, but all players are sacked by a Swiss 4th division side.
After a 10-0 defeat last weekend, Swiss fourth-tier side Grenchen sacked their whole team but gave the manager a vote of confidence.
“It sounds brutal, but these players are not good enough for this league,” said sporting director Renato Brun, who has backed Patrick Boesch to turn things around at the club.
Grenchen are – not surprisingly – bottom of the table with just one win in 14 games and a goal difference of minus 70.
“Others would have long since chucked in the towel in his situation,” says team boss Boesch.
