Legia Warsaw fans detained after clashes

Twenty-six supporters of Polish club Legia Warsaw were detained in Vilnius after violence marred the club's Intertoto Cup match against Lithuanianj outfit Vetra Vilnius.
Thirteen supporters of the Polish side had already been arrested by Lithuanian police before the second round first leg match on SundaySunday, while the same number were detained on charges of hooliganism and resisting arrest.
With Vetra leading 2-0 after 45 minutes, several hundred of the estimated 3000 visiting fans invaded the pitch on the half-time whistle and attacked police who responded by firing tear gas.
Police forced the Legia supporters out of the stadium, and Vetra fans were asked to remain inside the ground for security reasons.
UEFA is to hold an investigation into the trouble.
