Liverpool will be hoping to keep up the pressure at the top of the Premier League with a win over West Ham at Anfield night.

Torino striker Elvis Abbruscato will miss the rest of the season after suffering a serious leg injury against Siena.

Abbruscato picked up the injury in dying seconds of Sunday’s 1-0 defeat, having come on as a 68th minute substitute for Roberto Stellone.

Reports from Torino’s medical staff say the forward has broken his fibula, dislocated his shin bone and damaged ligaments.

He is expected to undergo surgery in the next few days and will sit out the remainder of the campaign.

His injury is another setback for Torino, who suffered a fifth successive away defeat at the weekend to leave question marks hanging over Gianni De Biasi’s future as coach.
