Charlie Adam is unhappy having been “seriously mucked about” by Blackpool over their failure to agree a transfer to Liverpool, according to his agent Kenny Moyes.

Moyes has accused Blackpool of deliberately blocking Adam’s move to Anfield after the Reds made an offer for the player on deadline day.

Liverpool’s interest ended when they refused to meet the Tangerines’ asking price.

His report conflicts with Harry Redknapp’s insistence that Spurs offered an acceptable amount for Adam, only to see the bid fail because it came too late in the day.

Adam, who had a transfer request rejected in January, is set to leave Blackpool in the summer, with Ian Holloway admitting it will be “impossible” to keep hold of the player.

“Charlie loves Blackpool and the Blackpool fans, but he was desperate to move to Liverpool – who wouldn’t feel that way when a club like that comes calling?” Moyes told The Sun.

“But he was seriously mucked about. Blackpool refused to put a figure on how much they wanted for him and would not enter any meaningful negotiations.

“It has been a major stress for Charlie, a real emotional rollercoaster. As well as being angry he feels gutted and badly let down as the only player to put in a transfer request and have it ignored.

“Luckily, coming from Rangers, he is bullet-proof, and I can promise you that you won’t see any difference in his level of performance. He will be as committed and passionate as ever.

“That’s just the way Charlie is – he’s the sort of guy you would always want in the trenches alongside you. But he has personal ambitions he wants to fulfil, and I just hope the club play fair with him in the summer.”
