Adriano admits he held talks with Chelsea before signing a long-term deal at Internazionale.

The Brazilian striker was one of Jose Mourinho’s top transfer targets in the summer.

Internazionale offered Adriano a new improved five-year deal last week, although the striker has confrmed that he did contemplate a move to England.

”My agent did have some meetings with them and I must admit that I did stop to think about it,” said Adriano.

”But I am fully adapted to Italian football and I’m on my way to my first World Cup finals.

”There was no reason to risk everything by leaving. I also wanted to have a sequence with the same club and I realised that I feel good here at Inter.

”I want to leave my mark and win titles for this club.”
