Sergio Aguero believes he would be suited to Chelsea’s playing style as speculation continues that the Atletico Madrid star is bound for Stamford Bridge in January.

The Spaniards claimed that they turned down another bid for the Argentina forward at the beginning of December after also turning down an approach in the summer.

But reports claim that Aguero will be heading for the Premier League in the transfer window, with Chelsea keen to cover the temporary departures of Didier Drogba and Salomon Kalou for the African Cup of Nations.

Aguero, quoted in The Sun, said: “Chelsea are interested in me because they think I can play an important role for the team.

“And I think I fit with their style of play.

“Of course I watch the Premier League on TV and I think it is the best league in the world, along with the Spanish league.

“There are a lot of very good players but, right now, the top striker in the Premier League is without doubt, Drogba.

“After comes Fernando Torres, but Drogba is the best.”
