Recently appointed Ajax coach, Danny Blind, is looking bring Edgar Davids back to the club where he first made a name of himself.The combative midfielder left Ajax to join Milan in 1996. Subsequent spells at Juventus, Barceona and Inter have confirmed his reputation as one of Europe’s leading middfield players. However, this season, at Inter, under Roberto Mancini, he has found himself out of favour.
A number of Europe’s leading clubs are understood to be interested in signning the 32-year-old but Blind hopes that Davids mmight be tempted bny the prospect of a return to Amsterdam.
“Looking to next season we need experienced players such as [Davids],” Blind told De Telegraaf.
“You can take PSV as an example and see what experience can do with a team.
“When it will be a player with an Ajax past it’s only an advantage.”
