Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti has saluted his team’s superiority over Deportivo following their 4-1 win in last night’s Champions League quarter-final.

Milan trailed to a Walter Pandiani goal before levelling the scores through Kakaon the stroke of half-time. A second strike for the Brazilian along with strikes from Shevchenko and Pirlo, saw the holders cruise to an impressive 4-1 win.

“There was certainly a superiority on our part and we will try to repeat it in the second leg,’ admitted Ancelotti.

‘Everything is coming very easily for this team right now.”

Milan’s Captain Paolo Maldini claims the key to his side’s victory was their composure after going behind to Walter Pandiani’s early header for Deportivo.

“We gave up a goal on the first chance against us, but we always play 90 minutes.” We stayed united and waited for our chances.”

For Deportivo’s coach Javier Iruteta, the key moment was Milan’s equaliser just before halftime.

“It was a massive psychological blow and we never recovered,’ said the Depor coach.

‘We made too many defensive errors and they punished us.

However, Irureta believes his sside should not be written off just yet.

‘The tie is not over and we have a great deal to do, but we will go for it,” he added.
