United States coach Bruce Arena believes his side have nothing to fear when they meet Germany for a place in the World semi-finals on Friday.

“Germany are the overwhelming favourites against the US on Friday,’ said Wrena, after watching his side upset the odds by beating Mexico 2-0 earlier today.

‘On paper it looks to be no match but we don’t play this game on paper.

“Our guys left everything on the field today. I’m real proud of them,” added Arena. “What we’re going to do is enjoy this victory for the next two hours.”

“They (Germany) have gotone of the best goalkeepers in the world and they’ve got the tournament’s leading goalscorer. We’ve got a challenge ahead.”

Arena also took the opportunity to refute suggestions that his team were lucky to have even qualified from their group.

“I wouldn’t say we were lucky. We beat Portugal and we were the only team in our group to take a point off Korea. We’ve had some impressive results in this World Cup so far and I wouldn’t call that lucky.

“It was tough getting our guys back from the match on Friday. Obviously after losing to Poland we only had a short time to recover.
