Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis has stated that manager Arsene Wenger is “clearly staying” at Emirates Stadium.

Gazidis’ comments follow Wenger’s admission on Wednesday that he intends to see out his current contract with Arsenal.

The French coach had been linked with a move to Real Madrid after a fourth straight season without silverware led to criticism from a number of Gunners supporters at a recent shareholders meeting.

However, despite Wenger revealing that he found candidate for the Real presidency Florentino Perez’s project “interesting”, he later pledged his future to Arsenal.

Gazidis has now confirmed Wenger has the club’s “unequivocal support” and is keen for him stay beyond his current deal, which expires in 2011.
