Arsenal will be without leading scorer Thierry Henryfor the FA Cup semi-final tie against Blackburn.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger acknowledged the significance of Henry’s absence.

“Henry is out with a groin problem and it is a massive blow.

“It is an inflammation of his groin. We have to check it by scan to find out how long he will be out, it could be a few weeks or just a few days.

“It could be quite serious. We wanted to have Thierry with us but we must now focus on the strengths we have.”

Wenger also confirmed that defender Sol Campbell will play no part in the game despite two run-outs for the reserves in the last two weeks.

“Sol will not be involved either in Cardiff as he is still a fraction short of full fitness,” added Wenger.

“He is ready to play but I would prefer him to be working out, rather than sitting on the bench. We will make a decision about the Chelsea game next Tuesday.”
