Arsenal are playing a waiting game to see if Mathieu Flamini will accept the club’s offer of a new deal.
The midfielder’s current contract at Emirates Stadium expires at the end of the season and unless he signs a new deal he will be able to leave the club on a free transfer.
The French international has been a revelation for Arsenal this season, displacing World Cup winner Gilberto Silva from Arsene Wenger’s starting line-up.
A number of clubs are thought to be keen on signing Flamini with reports in Italy claiming the French international has signed a pre-contract agreement with Juventus.
Arsenal chairman Peter Hill-Wood has confirmed they have made Flamini an offer and they are waiting to find out the midfielder’s response.
“We have made him [Flamini] a proposal,” Hill-Wood told the Daily Star.
“We have heard from his representatives but they have not given us a response.”
