Arsenal striker Andrey Arshavin has admitted he is unlikely to be fit for next week’s Champions League clash with Porto.

The Russian forward is struggling with a hamstring injury he picked up in the midweek win over Liverpool.

However, Arshavin is hoping to be back in time for the Premier League meeting with Sunderland on 20th February.

“If all goes well, I get back on the pitch as early as the next Premier League match against Sunderland,” Arshavin told Sport Express.

“However, the next game against Porto in the Champions League I will miss.”

The news is a blow for Gunners boss Arsene Wenger as he is already without long-term injury victim Robin van Persie for the game against Porto.
