Everton midfielder Mikel Arteta has admitted he would one day like to play for Atletico Madrid.
The Spaniard is on a long-term contract at Goodison Park, having signed a new five-year deal in the summer, but he confessed he was attracted by the prospect of playing for Atletico.
“Some day I will end up at Atletico. It is a club that I have always liked and where I would like to play,” Arteta told El Confidencial.
“In football, projects finish and start when one least expects it. As well as that, in my life everything has always gone very quickly.
“If someone had told me at the start of my career that at 25 I would already have played in three different countries, I would have said they were mad.”
