Everton midfielder Mikel Arteta has dismissed speculation linking him with a move to Atletico Madrid.
Arteta was quoted by a Spanish newspaper last week as saying that one day he would ‘play for Atletico.
However, he insists there is no truth in the story and that the comments date back to a period before he joined Everton.
“I don’t know what the story is. I haven’t talked to any papers,” he said in The Independent.
“About five years ago I said (Atletico) was a good club and I still think that, but I am happy here.”
