Mista has completed his move from Valencia to Atletico Madrid, the Primera Liga club have confirmed.

“I want to feel important again. Last season was very difficult for me but now I am keen to give my all for this club,” the striker told a news conference.

The 27-year-old is reported to have moved for around €4m.

The close season signing of Fernando Morientes from Liverpool appeared to have made Mista surplus to requirements at Valencia.

Mista joins a club which aleady possesses an abundance of strikers in Fernando Torres, Mateja Kezman and Argentine youngster Sergio Aguero.

“It is positive to have so many important strikers at the club and is a good problem for the coach,” Mista added.

“I am here to help the team how I can.”
