Lecce have appointed Silvio Baldini as their new coach following the dismissal of Angelo Gregucci.

Gregucci, who only took charge of Lecce in the summer, was fired on Monday after seeing his side pick up just one point from their first five games.

Baldini has agreed a two-year deal at Lecce and the cub’s chief officer Claudio Fenucci was pleased with the appointment.

“We are happy with the choice, I believe Baldini will be able to give serenity and faith and I wish that after having recovered a balance we could play a season to our possibilities,” Fenucci told the club’s official website.

“Baldini has shown to be able to work with players and with more mature ones, and for this we believe he’s the right person to do what we are expecting.”
