Julio Baptista’s proposed move to Roma from Real Madrid is in danger of collpasing.

The Serie A side are reported to be unwilling to match the Brazilian’s wage demands, and the striker’s agent insists his client is unwilling to accept a pay cut in order to join the Italians.

“To be honest the deal is on hold,” Herminio Mendez told La Roma Siamo Noi.

“The clubs have both reached an agreement but there are also other teams interested apart from Roma. Fenerbahce are one of those sides.

“We’ll see what happens. We will try and meet with the club in the next few days.”

Roma’s wage bill is restricted by a salary cap, and Baptista’s reported €3million per season demands would break their salary structure.
