Barcelona vice-president Rafael Yuste has confirmed that talks are taking place with Valencia regarding the possible signing of David Villa.
Valencia are understood to be prepared to listen to offers for £30million-rated Villa and Real Madrid were thought to be in the driving seat to sign the forward.
However, European champions Barca are hoping to beat their arch-rivals to the 27-year-old’s signature.
Yuste told Radio Catalunya: “The talks (over Villa) are absolutely open.
“Because of the success of our club, many players are interested in coming to Barcelona.
“This is good and I think people have to be aware of it.”
