Barcelona are reportedly monitoring Arsenal full-back Emmanuel Eboue, with a view to making a bid for the Ivory Coast midfielder in the summer.

Eboue joined The Gunners from Beveren in 2005, and has made 98 appearances since arriving in London.

Eboue claimed that a number of ‘big clubs’ had approached Arsenal about signing him in the January transfer window.

Meanwhile, Arsene Wenger has admitted that Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Middlesbrough had left his players feeling demoralised.

“I feel they gave absolutely everything, but there was a little fraction less of belief,” he said.

“There was a big disappointment in the dressing room. It was like a defeat. It is the flattest I have seen them after a game.

“I feel the team fights, we came back again against Boro and this team will fight until the end.

“I believe we need to keep fighting and then to turn things around.

“We didn’t lose against Middlesbrough, a draw was not enough – but we have to lift the spirits and go for the next one.”
