German champions Bayern Munich want to sign Porto’s Brazilian-born midfielder Deco their manager Ottmar Hitzfeld confirmed.
Bayern have watched Deco, 26, inspire Porto to the Champions League semi-finals 12 months after being the creative force behind the club’s UEFA Cup success.
“Deco is a player on our wish list,” Hitzfeld told Kicker magazine.
“We are watching him but have not made a concrete move yet.”
Deco, real name Anderson Luis de Souza, was born in Brazil but has subsequently become a naturalised Brazilian and he will play for Portugal in this summer”s EURO 20004 finals.
