Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge is doubtful that a deal will be reached for Schalke keeper Manuel Neuer this summer.

The Bavarian side have made their first offer for the German keeper, but it is believed to fall well short of Schalke’s valuation of the player.

Rummenigge fears a lengthy, drawn-out process and doubts whether an agreement can even be reached.

“We will definitely be signing a new goalkeeper,” he told the Bild.

“I don’t really think we are going to find a quick agreement (for Neuer).

“And I am also not convinced that Bayern and Schalke will find a price which suits them both.

“We will have to wait and see – the transfer window is still open for four more months.”
