Bayern Munich have won the race to sign German international Tim Borowski.
The 27-year-old is out-of-contract with Werder Bremen at the end of the season – but he has opted to leave the Weserstadion in the January transfer window.
Werder are disappointed at the departure of Borowski – who they had hoped would sign a new long-term deal with the club.
“It’s a shame,” coach Thomas Schaaf said.
“We would have happily carried on working with Tim.”
