Dennis Bergkamp has been charged with violent conduct following an incident in Arsenal’s recent Premier League match against Blackburn.

The Dutchman has been handed the charge after he allegedly stamped on Rovers’ Swedish defender Nils-Eric Johansson.

The incident was overlooked by referee Graham Barber, but was subsequently highlighted on television and in the press, much to the annoyance of Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger.

Bergkamp has 14 days to respond to and, if found guilty, he can exppect to a fine and suspension.
