Birmingham City have confirmed they are close to signing Senegal skipper, Aliou Cisse.

Manager Steve Bruce is in talks to bring the defender – who impressed in Senegal’s run to the World Cup quarter-finals – to St Andrews.

Birmingham have agreed a £2million fee with Paris Saint-Germain for the 27-year-old, who spent last season on loan to French club, Montpellier.

Cisse arrived in Birmingham on Sunday night and was introduced to the team on Monday morning. He is expected to sign a four-year deal with the newly-promoted Premier League club.
