Man City will be hoping to follow-up their 3-0 win over Stoke in the Premier League back in October when the pair meet again this Saturday lunchtime.

Blackburn are set to sign Russian striker Pavel Pogrebnyak, according to his club Zenit St Petersburg.

The 25-year-old has already been targeted by Everton and Bolton this month, but neither have been able to agree terms for the striker.

“Yesterday [Tuesday], Blackburn officials contacted us and made an offer for Pogrebnyak,” president Maxim Mitrofanov confirmed to Sovietsky Sport.

“Their offer is almost the same as our valuation.

“If they send us the offer officially in time, we will contact Pogrebnyak and will persuade him to go to England.”

Pogrebnyak, who has scored 28 goals in 51 games for Zenit, has admitted he would relish the chance to make the switch to the Premier League.

“I am a huge fan of the English Premier League, to play there is my dream,” he told Sport Express.
