Blackburn have signed Swiss international Bruno Berner from FC Basle.
The 29-year-old left-back has moved to Ewood Park for a nominal transfer fee and has signed an 18-month deal with the Premiership outfit.
Berner is ineligible to play for Rovers in their Uefa Cup tie against Bayer Leverkusen on 14 February as he has already played for Basle in this season’s competition.
The defender started his career with Zurich side Grashoppers before moving to German side SC Freiburg. Berner returned to Switzerland with Basle at the start of last season.
