Fifa president Sepp Blatter has suggested that players’ wages should be reduced to help clubs balance their books.

Blatter believes that reducing players’ wages is the key to financial stability within the sport.

“When clubs are able to play, that is okay,” Blatter told German football magazine Kicker.

“But they should not get into debt in order to pay players’ wages and it is in this respect that clubs need to control their finances.”
