Boca Juniors moved closer to qualifying for the second phase of the Libertadores Cup by beating Ecuadorean club Barcelona 2-1 to maintain their 100 per cent record in the competition.
Boca, three-time winners of the Libertadores Cup scored either side of the break through Guillermo Barros Schelotto and Marcelo Delgado to earn the points for the Argentinian side. Ariel Grazziani replied for the visitors wih a goal in the dying momentsof the game. .
The victory was Boca’s third in the competition and leaves them on the threshold of qualification for the knockout stages.
Barcelona lie second ahead of Independiente Medelllin on goal difference although the Colombian side have plafed a game less. Chile’s Colo Colo are yet to collect a point in Group 7.
