Bologna have appointed former Siena boss Alberto Malesani as their new manager to replace Franco Colomba.
The 56-year-old coach has previously managed the likes of Fiorentina, Panathinaikos and Parma – who he led to a Coppa Italia and Uefa Cup title.
Bologna sacked former boss Colomba on the eve of the new season after he guided the club to 17th in Serie A last term.
Malesani’s opening match in charge will be a trip to Rome to play Lazio in the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday.
