Lee Bowyer’s move to Liverpool, which looked in danger of collapsing yesterday, appears to be back on.

Liverpool had agreed a £9million fee with Bowyer’s club Leeds but negotiations between the player and the Anfield board stalled earlier this week over Bowyer’s alleged wage demands of £40,000 a week.

However, Liverpool’s chief executive Rick Parry said today: “We are very enthusiastic because we obviously think Lee will be a good addition to our squad.

“We also think it would be a good move for him because he would be alongside young members of the England team.”
