However, the club’s director of sport Klaus Allofs has denied that they are close to reaching anÊagreement with the unsettled striker.
The 29-year-old is unhappy about his position at Highbury after spending much of the season on the sidelines through injury. In his absence, recent signing Jose Antonio Reyes has established himself as an adequate replacement and the FRenchman’s days at Highbury appear numbered.
“There’s interest from both sides. We thought a lot about the deal, but haven’t finalised the talks with regard to his salary,” Allofs told Kicker.
