Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon has admited that Milan now have a slight edge in the Serie A title race.

“They [Milan] beat Inter and now have a small advantage in the title race,” said Buffon.

Juve travel to Rome to face Roma at the Stadio Olimpico on Saturday and Buffon believes a victory in that match is crucial.

“Should we beat Roma, then everything will be equal again because Milan still have to visit Rome,” the Italian number one added.

“Roma are a great team, especially with that attacking trio (of Francesco Totti, Antonio Cassano and Vincenzo Montella).

“On Saturday, my role is of fundamental importance.

“It will be my turn to contribute to the team.”

Buffon also played down reports that all is not well within the Juventus camp.

“I have read many wrong things about this team – the truth is we feel good and the group is close,” stated Buffon.

“The win against Siena was useful, as it has allowed us to get in the correct frame of mind for our games with Roma and Real Madrid.”
