Cameroon have sacked coach Winfried Schaefer in the wake of their defeat to Germany.

Cameroon’s Youth and Sports Minister Siegfried David Etame Massoma said Schaefer had been fired for “failing to produce good results”.

Schaefer has been in charge of Cameroon since 2001 helping them to qualify for the 2002 World Cup and the African Cup of Nations in 2002.

However, after a poor start to their World Cup qualifying campaign, Schaeferhas come under pressure and the 3-0 defeat to Germany was the final straw for Cameroon officials.
