Real Madrid striker Antonio Cassano has been suspended from training after an incident in the aftermath of the club’s game against Gimnastic on Saturday.
Real said Cassano, who spent the game on the bench, had shown a lack of respect for coach Fabio Capello after the game but refused to disclose details of the incident.
Spanish newspapers claimed Cassano had confronted Capello, demanding to be a first-choice player.
“I deserve to play and be a starter,” sports newspaper AS quoted Cassano as saying to Capello after the match which Real won 3-1.
