Celta Vigo have admitted they are interested in signing Tottenham striker Mido.

The Egyptian has spent most of this season on the substitutes bench at Spurs and Celta Vigo are keen to take the striker back to the club where he enjoyed a loan spell in 2003.

However, director of sport Felix Carnero believes Celta may not even be able to afford Mido.

“It is very difficult. We do not have space for him,” said Carnero.

“It would also be very complicated to pay an elevated amount of money.

“Possibly he wants to come to Vigo, where he has played, but right now he cannot come because we do not have space.”

Meanwhile, playmaker Nene has been linked with a move away from Spain and Carnero admits Celta could be willing to do a swap deal with Tottenham.

“If they offered €10million (£6.6million) we would have to make a decision,” he added.

“If one player goes away, we will look in the market for someone to replace him.”
